Poppin' Pop Ups
Our first pop-up experience in Santa Barbara was at The Black Sheep Restaurant. It was fun and interesting and also allowed us to discover a lot of the city of Santa Barbara. The car ride was very long and boring. It took us about 4 to 5 hours to get there, but the payoff was huge. When we finally reached our destination, we had dinner and went to bed knowing we had a big day the next day. When we finally reached the point of the pop-up, our whole family was nervous, stressed, and excited at the same time. We had to set up a lot and started preparing the food as soon as we got into the kitchen.
My brother and I were surprised at how many people came to the pop-up experience. At the end, we reflected on what we had accomplished and what we could have changed. There were a few things that we did wrong but overall we as a family team did pretty well for our first time in Santa Barbara.

Our next pop-up was at Joint Venture Kitchen in San Francisco. We felt excited and a little bit nervous. We were more confident than last time and we were expecting to do better. When people started coming that was when the fun began. We had a little bit of aid from friends and neighbors and we had a lot of family and friends coming. It was also very fun, we got to see a lot of friendly faces and we got a lot of compliments while we were there. The second pop-up went a lot more smoother than last time but we still thought there was room for improvement.
We are excited to be hosting more pop ups in San Francisco. If you are interested coming to our next pop up, here are some things you can look forward to. The theme is #comfortfood that we love and have shared with our #ohana, such as #musubis, #noodles and homemade sweet treats to end the night. Come and join us on October 6th.
